Monday

Thomas spent from 7-5 on Monday and part of Tuesday burning huge brush/log piles with our bishop. Bishop is paying for our car to be fixed and Thomas is working for him to pay it back. When Thomas came home he was filthy! But had had a lot of fun.

Tuesday: Leaving for Mama’s House!

We’re going to California! My mom got extra insurance money from my dad’s passing that she didn’t know about so she paid to have all 6 of her kids come home to help her get rid of stuff, do yard work, fix things, etc. So I brought my 5 little kids and they got to go on their first airplane ride. A couple of them went when they were little but don’t remember it. The others weren’t born yet.

First Airplane Ride!

I sat on one side with the boys and the 3 girls sat across from us. Everyone was super excited to be on their first airplane ride.

We had a layover in DFW and the kids loved riding the skytram. I’m going to make a video about it. They were really fun to watch. Getting on for our final leg to SMF the kids got to sit in the cockpit, which they also thought was super cool.

Wednesday-Saturday: Working at Mama’s

We were up at 7 every morning working with all my siblings. We did some yard work, cleaned out her 2 story garage, fell some dead trees, cleaned out closets, held a yard sale, and fixed things that were broken. It was so much fun working together and getting a lot done. My brother brought his 4 kids and my kids loved playing with them when we weren’t working.

Thursday: Fourth of July

Besides working, we also had a bbq, and sat around talking as adults while the kids played. Misty made 2 desserts over 2 days to keep it festive.

All 6 Hofmann Kids

We haven’t all been together since my dad died in 2016, so it was special to get back together. We never dressed up for a great photo, but here we are hanging around the table talking on Trisha’s birthday and then in our work clothes with Mama another day.

Sunday: Saying Goodbye to Cousins and Going to Church

It was a great week and I’m sad it’s over. Always special to spend time with family when they live across the country from you. I’m so glad we made it work this year. Lori and I head back to NC on Tuesday.
