Tuesday: Three Middle Kids Fly Home
The middle kids had a great time in Pine Grove with Mama and my sister, Trish, who lives in Hong Kong (teaches at a middle school international school) and is home for the summer. They helped Mama with yard work and also got to play in a cold mountain river as well as a warm valley lake. I certainly missed them as they are the best helpers. Both teenagers and little kids whine a bit when being asked to work, but these 3 are at the ages where they’ll say “Yes, ma’am” when I ask them to pull weeds. And they’re always just offering if I need help with anything. So I really missed them! We had a lot of extra work on our hands cleaning the chicken coop and duck pool, weeding their garden boxes, picking blueberries and more. They are usually such great helpers.
The Rest of the Week
Meanwhile, Tuesday we helped our friend Laura, again, move boxes and furniture down to her basement and set up shelves. She is super generous in paying us to help her. I would love to do it for free because I love helping her, but it’s so nice she’s paying and an answer to prayers to have hands-on jobs like these while I’m building an online business. So glad Spencer was there to help because he’s strong. And we 5 had a lot of fun!
Lori had picked the 3 middle kids up at the airport and they spent the night with her. Then Wednesday I took Andy and Tilly down to swim with them and then brought them home. It was a perfect day for swimming.
Saturday we had fun hanging outside while it drizzled all day. We played in the mud kitchen, carved wants, and cut some tarp material (can’t remember the name and it’s late) to cover the hole in our storm door.
