Thomas gets his mission call!!!

Thomas and Samuel left for Aaronic Priesthood camp on Monday at lunchtime. That night he got a text saying his mission call was ready to be viewed on the mission website. So he gathered the camp kids together and opened it in front of everyone. He FaceTimed us and Madalyn so we got to see him open it too. It was so cool!! Opening mission calls are such a spiritual experience. To know the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is telling one of His apostles you are called to be a missionary, bringing people to Him. And finding out where you are assigned to serve at. It’s incredible. Watch the video to feel those special feelings yourself!

Garden Update June 2025

It’s fun to go back and look at the garden at different months throughout the summer and see it’s growth. So here are a bunch of pictures taken from different angles. We’re trying to improve our garden each year so hopefully this is our best garden ever –our 5th summer here.

Tuesday: We got an ebike!

A company reached out to me and offered me a free e-bike if I’d do a YT video review and I said yes! Usually I get offers for things like cheese graters or water filters and it’s not worth it. But we’ve always wanted an e-bike so I was happy to do this collaboration.

We spent the whole afternoon putting it together (instructions are not that great) and then we tried it out. It’s so fun! An awesome toy that doesn’t take gas and is easy to maintain.

Playing Mini American Girl Dolls With Tilly

Kaitlyn and Makenna left for their girls camp on Wednesday. So that only left Andy and Tilly at home with me until Friday when the boys came back. I worked as much as I could and then I’d play American Dolls with Tilly. We had them be in a circus one time and then they went camping another time. The blue slack line was a water slide into the river. We roasted pieces of cheese and beef stick over a fire. 🙂 And we rode llamas and alpacas. 🙂 (The silkies.) I’m glad I got to spend extra time with Tilly and Andy. They were great helpers with the garden and chickens and other chores too.

Hanging Out With Andy and Tilly

I also played a lot of card games like Old Maid with Andy and Tilly. In the evenings we worked on the mud kitchen together. Andy and Tilly painted the wood stove burners black as well as the griddle and we got them nailed on to her mud kitchen so she has a “working” oven and stove!

Baptism Photo Shoot

One morning Tilly and I did a photo shoot of Tilly wearing her baptism dress. We were going to make invitations but nothing was working out and we decided it was an unnecessary expense anyway. But she was adorable. My little caboose.
