Solar Eclipse

Monday was the solar eclipse and we had a fun eclipse party. We brought snacks outside and ate and rode bikes while every so often checking on the eclipse. We also got a bit of yard work done when it was too cloudy to see. It was a bit disappointing as the day before was perfectly cloudless, but we still made it fun.

Having Fun

Kaitlyn’s Birthday

Saturday Kaitlyn turned 14. She has been a super sweet teenager so far. She’s the oldest of the younger 5 and has always been a great leader for them. She instigates games like dragons or human candy land, plays outside with them, reads to them, does crafts with them and more. She’s rarely on electronics except listening to audio books while crocheting.

For her birthday Lori came up and gave her yarn and thread for her projects. My mom got her a sheet music book of folk songs for her guitar and ukulele. I got her chicks, something she didn’t ask for because we have enough chickens for now and would possibly get some in the summer. So she was really surprised and happy.

We had a delicious hamburger lunch. Makenna picked out the 6 chicks for Kaitlyn.

New Chicks

It’s always fun to get new chicks and hold them or watch them run around, exploring. Kaitlyn takes awesome care of them.
