Morning walk

Kaitlyn only had 1 day of seminary this week because of the storm, but I enjoyed walking and listening to a motivational podcast. The sunrise is so pretty and I love all the pines.

Snow storm: boom or bust?

Here’s the first snow storm forecast on Sunday. Looks like we could get 7″!! Then on Tuesday it changed to us getting 0. Just a big hole over us. Can you believe it? Have you ever seen that big of a hole where a storm passes over a whole state but leaves a hole? Crazy. But that’s exactly what happened. Definitely a storm bust for us.

That brown dusting was us. The picture on the right proves it. My brother sent me a picture of all their snow in Wyoming with -20 degrees and still school. I told him no school here but no snow either. Then I found this little patch, took a picture, and sent it to him. No school and no rehearsal either for that. But there were other areas that got more. Too bad we got shafted. Virginia Beach got 10″!! I’m so happy for them.

Snowy hike with Tilly

I had to go to the dentist 1.5 hours away so I brought Tilly along to keep me company. It was a fun snowy drive. Afterward she wanted to go on a little hike so we did. It was cozy hiking while it snowed small soft flakes. We’re going to have to go on a longer, more warmer hike with a picnic soon. We’re ready for some spring hikes!

Friday: Pennsylvania

For school we studied Pennsylvania and Mary Cassatt. The we did a monolith painting where you paint on the table and then put paper over it and draw on the paper. It’s pretty cool! You’ll have to see the vlog to see how it worked out. Then Andy made us tasty Philly cheese steak.

Kaitlyn’s Creations

Kaitlyn has been busy crocheting up a storm! She is determined to earn all the money for her and Makenna’s plane tickets to go to Utah in March and not dip into their savings. So she is crocheting and selling cute little animals.

I live in Western NY between lake Erie and lake Ontario. We GWT a lot of snow from lake effect snow ( good subject for kids to research) in 1977 when I was in 4 th grade we had what is called the Blizzard of 77 ! It was massive! If you look it up especially on YouTube you will see pictures that will amaze you! Kids standing on snow piles big enough to touch street lights! We were out of school for 2 weeks!

Wow! So you must live by Niagara Falls! That’s so cool! We want to go there this year or next. We LOVE learning about natural disasters so we will definitely look up the blizzard of 77. Thank you for telling me!
