Sunday: Good-bye, Lori

Sunday I took Lori to the airport at 5am for her flight to Hong Kong to help our sister with cancer treatments. I did Lori’s dog-sitting job for her and got a lot of free time to work on my business.

Monday: Bad Luck #1

Monday at 2pm I was sitting outside with the dog and answering YT comments when I heard a big bang. I look in the driveway and see my windshield cracked. Then look in the window and see a mess on the seats. I was sick to my stomach and assumed someone vandalized our car “Steve.” After talking to the neighbors for 3 hours and trying to figure out who did it and why and how when I was sitting outside, we determined it was Thomas’s aerosol can of cologne that exploded in the dash compartment and did all the damage.

Tuesday: Bad Luck #2 and 3

The next day the dog owners were coming home so I left Charlotte to go back to my house. In bumper to bumper traffic I was rear ended and when I pulled over, the guy drove past and waved! He wouldn’t even pull over. My head was hurting from whiplash and I was so discouraged and just done with this Charlotte trip.

But the bad luck trip wasn’t done with me. Then Steve broke down. Right there on the freeway. With a thunderstorm approaching. Madalyn came and got me in the minivan and we moved all the groceries into the van in the pouring rain. Andy had come along too and I was so happy to see them both as I was really feeling lonely and upset about everything. And just ready for home.

Picking Blueberries

I had a bad headache from getting rear ended so the rest of the week I pretty much went through the motions of working in the garden, picking blueberries, doing laundry, reading to the kids, etc. Just taking care of the essentials and easy auto-pilot stuff.

Here’s the vlog about the bad luck that comes in threes for us this week.
