Garden Update and Pumpkin Picking
We worked really hard in our garden this month. The summer started off drier than usual so we had to do a lot of watering. Then there was the usual picking off bugs and hornworms and scaring away deer. We didn’t get as many pumpkins as we wanted, but we’re happy with the ones we got. We love to carve our names in them. We’re also happy with the amount of zucchini, tomatoes, kiwi berries, beans, grapes, and garlic we’re getting. We chopped lots of garlic and froze it. Then we chopped lots more and dried it, then blended it into fine garlic. Then mixed it with our parsley we also dried and added Redmond’s Real Salt. Presto! Our own garlic salt! It’s delicious and so fun to make. I show how in the weekly vlog.

Cool E-Trike!
An e-trike company, “Meet One Trike” reached out and asked if I’d do a video review of their trike if they sent me one. We have gotten a few ebikes from companies, but this was our first trike. I said sure! We were really excited to put it together and try it out. We love it! It’s very good quality and we haven’t had any problems with it at all. It’s been perfect for riding up to Blueberry Hill and picking blueberries. Grab yours here: https://meetonetrike.com/SingleMomOnAFarm
After the family reunion in Georgia, Madalyn went to Florida to visit family and then Nauvoo with Kylie and friends, then came home for a few weeks! We always love having her home. She plays with Tilly, reads Harry Potter with the older kids, does puzzles, and helps with laundry and yard work. Plus, she’s always cheerful and wise. She helps me with decisions and keeping a proper perspective. I love having her sweet spirit in our home.
One weekend Lori came up to visit and we measured everyone to see who had grown. Samuel, at 12 years old, has officially passed both Lori and me!
