Sunday evening was warm and gorgeous. Dark clouds rolled in which made the sun going down light up the sky in an unique way. I hung out outside for hours watching it and savoring it. Our property could have been the most stunning I’ve ever seen it. I was so grateful to be able to witness and enjoy it. See the video to see for yourself!

That night a strong cold front came barreling through. It was 34 when we woke up and only got to 37 the whole day. The wind whipped up and sent all the leaves spiraling to the ground. All in one day it felt like autumn was over and winter was here. The Japanese cherry tree went from bright and glorious to dull and drab.
Monday we got a phone call that someone was getting rid of chickens and a turkey so we ran and got them! Such a fun surprise and blessing this cold, drab day. Other than that we played paper puppets that someone sent us in the mail and made the first meat loaf of the season. With winter on the way it’s time for meat and potatoes. See how I made it and several other recipes in the video!
