12-14-25 Hunting Holly

Girl in the woods looking for holly

Not a lot of pictures this week. I mostly took videos. But it was a good week. Monday was a snow day and we got to see the Nutcracker for free because the theater was supposed to perform for the schools so they still wanted an audience. We’ve never seen it, so that was a treat.

Besides that, I mostly worked a lot, Thomas and Kaitlyn served many hours at the theater helping with another play, and the kids did school and read. It was a really cold week so we mostly stayed inside.

One night Tilly made bread bowls with chicken and rice soup. Another night Andy made a blueberry brunch bake. Both tasted great and they’re getting to be good cooks!

Friday we got another dusting of snow. That’s four times this year already! And we don’t usually get snow until after Christmas. It’s definitely been a cold, snowy December so far.

Tilly and I hunted the woods for holly and pine needle sprigs for decorating the windows. This is our annual tradition and one I really enjoy. I love having that time with her, hiking the woods and talking. I love touching different plants, picking up pine cone sprigs, clipping things, smelling the trees, hearing the birds, and feeling the wind on my face. This is one tradition I hope to never let go of.

And don’t forget to check out our miracles of the week as well as a special Christmas stories episode on my channel.
