After getting several inches of sleet and freezing rain on Sunday, the sun came out on Monday. We spent the week tubing, sliding, and skating all over our driveway and yard on the ice. It was crazy! Some places were 4″ thick! Most other places were 2″. In any case, it was serious ice! It stayed close to freezing the entire week, so very little melted.
The driveway was one solid sheet of ice. It was so crazy! We had a great time tubing down it as well as sliding. Tilly and I walked to the end of the road every day to see if the mail had come, but it never did the entire week (or the next.) But we had a great time sliding down. Check out the vlog!
Kaitlyn spent 8-10 hours a day crocheting this custom cat. It’s incredible! Then we got ready for another snowstorm to hit the Carolinas in a week.
Another Snowstorm!
The ice was just starting to melt when we got hit with another winter storm. This one was named Gianna. Every single county in the Carolinas got snow, which was historic. It’s very unusual for both the mountains and the beaches to get snow the same day. Even Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks got almost a foot!
Anyway, we woke up Saturday to 3″ of snow and got 3 more inches by 2pm. It snowed until midnight, but also got windy so I’m not sure if we got much more than that. The news showed impressive totals from around the state though!
We had a great time playing in the snow. Then it got windy and dropped to around 10 degrees and the snow wasn’t so fun anymore. It’s also looking like we might be snowed in another week.
