Cinco De Mayo and Mother’s Day

First off, here is a picture of our Cinco De Mayo party last Sunday. Made some different Mexican foods and enjoyed spending time together. Then there is a Mother’s Day selife today with 6 of my children, the least I’ve ever had at home on Mother’s Day. In Utah the college kids always came home for Mother’s Day so I had all 10. Since moving here the first year I had 8 kids here and last year I had 7. Now there were only 6. Sad. I love being with my children so much. We had a wonderful, relaxing day talking to the college kids, watching home videos, and eating good food.

Biggest Dresser in the World

Thursday we took a little trip to High Point, NC. First we stopped at the biggest dresser in the world. I think it’s 36′ tall. It’s a popular tourist attraction so we had to stop and get our photo by it. Then we went to the Nido Children’s Museum down the street from it. It offers $3 tickets for those on food stamps so I took the kids. Tilly has been begging for over a year to go to a museum and I was thrilled to find this one and be able to take her. She was so happy!

Children’s Museum in High Point

We had a great time. I loved playing restaurant with Tilly at the pretend kitchen. They also had a vet clinic, a Mars encounter, a huge water room to play with water, lots of climbing stuff and a lot more. The staff were super nice and it’s only 2 years old, so everything was new.

Northern Lights

Friday night a friend texted that she could see the Northern Lights. I’m so glad she did because I would have never known otherwise. I don’t have time for news or social media. We ran outside and looked and they were beautiful! Kaitlyn and Makenna were so excited and I loved hearing them exclaim over and over about every color and every direction we looked. I enjoyed it too for about 5 minutes and then, liking to stay busy, decided as long as I was on the roof I’d clean out the gutters. So I had fun cleaning them out in the pitch black by using my sense of touch instead of eyesight for about 30 minutes while listening to 5 kids talk and talk about the skies. (Tilly was asleep.) It was a fun night.
