Week Ending 4-7-24 Trip to Florida

The kids were still in Florida at the beginning of the week and didn’t come home until Wednesday. I meanwhile worked a lot on a Seven Summits Presentation I was writing as well as Pinky Pye and several other projects. I also organized the house a lot, sewed curtains, cut the grass, and took care of the chickens. Thomas is my delivery boy, taking eggs to our customers so without him I started collecting a lot! I ate as many as possible but I still collected several big blue bowlfuls. We get at least a dozen a day so that was 108+. Here’s a picture of the eggs just a few days after they left. And a picture of our house from the view of an apple tree I was pruning out the dead branches of. I love seeing every plant and tree showing it’s spring.

Here are some pictures from the kids’ trip to Florida:

Temple Trip

Nathan’s parents are temple president and matron of the Orlando Temple. That means they’re in charge of it! One day they took my 4 kids who can go inside (you have to be 12 or older). The first picture is of 13 of their 26 grandchildren at their house for Easter dinner. The rest are at the temple.

Beach Trip in Florida

Grandma and Peepaw also took the kids to the beach with cousins.

They had a great trip and I’m so glad they got to go!!

General Conference Snacks

In April and October we have a church wide (world wide!) conference. It is held in Salt Lake City but broadcast throughout the world. We get to hear from our living prophet, Russel M. Nelson who is 99 1/2 years old! And also his counselors and 12 apostles. Our church is set up just like Jesus’ church was when He was on the Earth. The prophet and apostles teach us about Christ and how we can be more like Him, serving others, loving everyone, being honest, and so much more. After listening to their messages we are inspired to be better people.

So while we listen to the talks it’s fun to have some yummy food to snack on. Kylie is usually in charge of this because she loves to cook but we came up with good snacks without her. On Saturday we made deviled eggs (did I say we have a lot of eggs?!), Chex mix, chicken salad, cheese ball, and fruits and veggies. On Sunday we made stromboli, cheesy puff pull apart bread, chili dip, fruits and veggies and whole wheat cinnamon rolls. It was a great weekend!
