This week was a normal week except we decorated for Christmas. Tuesday we put out the decorations and Saturday we got our tree when the farm was open. The children rehearsed for A Christmas Carol every night so it’s beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas!
I didn’t realize Tilly’s hair had gotten so long until I went to trim it. I ended up cutting quite a bit off but her hair grows super fast, lucky girl.
Tuesday: Decorating Party
I made my healthy peanut butter nutella cookies and warmed up our raw chocolate milk for a fun cookie- cocoa snack while we put out the Christmas decorations. I’m not into it as much as I was when the oldest 5 were little but I’m trying and still want to help these younger 5 have great childhood memories and traditions.
Work Around the Farm
My favorite memories of each week are doing school with my kids or working with them. I just love having a little homestead and getting things done on it.
Saturday: Getting Our Tree!
Saturday morning we went to a local tree farm and the kids picked this one out within 2 minutes. I never even got to look around! But really you don’t need to. Every tree is perfectly shaped. This one only cost $39.
I love the Christmas tree farm. It’s beautiful looking out over hills and hills of trees all growing strong and beautiful to one day be put in someone’s house to celebrate our Savior’s birth. I’d love to own a Christmas tree farm and go around trimming the branches year round and helping them grow, but I probably won’t so I’ll just enjoy going to this one.

Tilly, where are your teeth!? Your hair looks nice all trimmed.
Maddie, I can’t wait to see you and hear some of your stories. I wish I could have been there when you came home.
Your tree is great and the price is right.
