Over the past 2 weekends the kids had 9 performances of A Christmas Carol. Most shows they only have 3-4. This was because Daniel Roebuck from Matlock, played Scrooge. And because it’s such a great, traditional play.
Besides that, this week was pretty low-key. Madalyn had nightly rehearsals for “It’s A Wonderful Life” which she played the piano for. I babysat some during the day, worked, played with the kids, homeschooled, wrapped presents, etc.
Pictures From The Week
Addressing and stamping Christmas cards with Tilly and a cute boy I watched.
Alexis had to do a presentation to at least 5 people about what she learned in a health and wellness class. So we gathered around the computer and listened to her teach us. She’s almost done with finals of her 2nd year at BYU and then she’ll be home for Chrismtas!
Reading to Isla and Tilly.
Kaitlyn cleaned the little boys’ room and got them to throw away all their cardboard creations. So we had a bonfire to burn it as well as a lot of branches that have fallen in recent storms.
The pizza boxes Andy made. He frequently delivers pizza to us while we’re still in bed, reading on the couch, or playing house. It’s sad to get rid of his stuff because he makes really great things, but his room is so stuffed with cardboard you can hardly walk in it. Time to make room for Christmas presents. Among his cardboard creations were candy dispensers, cardboard games, a solar oven, a crochet kit, a big organ, rubix cubes, microphones, a laptop, a jackhammer, and a remote control with a car. All out of cardboard!
Lori came up for the weekend to see the primary Christmas program as well as the play. She got here in the middle of our bonfire and pitched in to help while I made dinner.
English muffin egg sandwiches with juice shake. I buy Dave’s Killer English Muffins and scramble eggs from our chickens to make a healthy, delicious, quick dinner. Maddie had to leave at 5:15 for her performance so I needed something fast. I added frozen kale from our garden to the eggs for our beggie (besides the spinach and cucumbers in the juice shake), and served with fresh kiwi and grapes. Yum!
A Christmas Carol
Six of my kids were in A Christmas Carol and they had 9 performances! They all did great.
Pictures from afterwards
Daniel Roebuck, from Matlock, played Scrooge. He loved my “Mormon kids” as he called them. He loved hanging out with them back stage and especially chatting with Andy. He did an awesome job playing Scrooge.
