Sister Madalyn Holladay Comes Home!!

Madalyn has been a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the past 18 months. She was only allowed to call home once a week and not go home at all, not even for Christmas. So we really missed her! But we know she was serving Jesus Christ and are so proud of her. She spent 12 months in Nauvoo, Illinois, giving tours of the historic homes and sites there. She spent 6 months in Utah teaching the gospel when there were no tourists in Nauvoo. She loved her mission and it’s so fun hearing all her stories and experiences. I’m so proud of her! Glad she got to come home before Thanksgiving and we’re ecstatic she gets to stay through the holidays until she goes back to BYU in January. She’s so much fun and a huge help.

Andy’s Top Tooth

Andy waited for Madalyn to come home to finally pull out one of his top teeth–the one he almost pulled out last week with Tilly. I love top teeth missing smiles. I can’t wait for him to pull the other one out.

Hanging Out For Thanksgiving

Tuesday and Wednesday we had a lot of fun hanging out with Lori and Madalyn. They were both so helpful playing with the kids. We did some cooking, crafts, goofed off, and did plenty of chores. I worked on book studies to sell and published two so I was thrilled about that. A great week!

Thanksgiving!

Lori did most of the cooking, which was really helpful. We used our own grown potatoes for the mashed potatoes, which was fun. Some year I want to grow our entire Thanksgiving dinner. We invited the sister missionaries serving here (far from their families) over and had a good time. Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas Parade

Saturday the kids were in the Christmas Parade, dressed in their Christmas Carol costumes to promote the show. The guy playing Scrooge, Daniel Roebuck (famous for Matlock and other shows), was the grand marshal. It was fun watching the cast walk down the street to get in position for the parade. Then fun to see them march by. I didn’t get a picture of Thomas, but these 5 were walking together and were so cute. Can’t wait for the show in 2 weeks!
