Sunday: Hot Chocolate Party

Fresh cow’s milk with some dark chocolate cocoa powder mixed in is the best kind of hot chocolate!! A friend gave us some chocolate spoons and candy canes for Christmas so we figured today was a good day to use them.

Tuesday: Big Rain Storm!

Tuesday we got a big winter storm. It wasn’t cold enough to snow here but they still called it a winter storm “Ember”. It poured rain all day and they canceled school. We got 3.75″ and parts of our yard that have never flooded, flooded in this storm. After it died down we went for a walk in the light rain to check it out. It was a lot of fun. Makenna collected 5 eggs and we stomped in a lot of puddles and checked out all the new rivers running alongside the driveway or into the woods. It felt good to get out after a day of pouring rain.

Working Outside

I’ve spent a lot of time inside working on my goal of writing curricula to sell. I hate to be inside and don’t like computers either, even though I do enjoy writing lessons plans. But I had enough on Thursday and we spent several hours outside tidying the yard, organizing the wood shed, chopping, hauling, and stacking wood, cleaning the chicken coop and more. It was so fun. I love working outside with my young’uns. We saw the first tulips poking up already!
